MRS. J. S. SLABAUGH

Death came to Mrs. J. S. Slabaugh at her home on North Main street, Nappanee, Ind. Sunday evening, Aug. 22, at 11:12 following an illness of about a year and a half.

Mrs. Slabaugh was a daughter of Maxwell D. and Barbara Schrock Mast and was born Feb. 1, 1879, in Miami county, Indiana. She was united in marriage to Jancy S. Slabaugh July 14, 1900, Amboy, Ind., in 1909, when Dr. Slabaugh took up practice of medicine in this community. She was a lifelong member of the Mennonite church and member of the women's advisory council of Bluffton College.

Surviving besides her husband are three brothers, Ira Mast, Amboy, Ind., Ben Mast, South Bend, Ind., and Earl Mast, Greentown, Ind.; and three grandchildren. One daughter, Ruth Esther, died in infancy and one son, Dr. Lotus M. Slabaugh, died May 21, last.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the First Mennonite church, Rev. Jacob J. Enz, former pastor of the church in charge and assisted by Rev. Rollin Moser. Interment was in the Violette cemetery, south of Goshen.
