MRS. RICHARD LEVI FRIESEN

Doris Floraine Wedel Friesen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Wedel, was born in McPherson county, Kansas, near Moundridge, April 16, 1920.

While living at Moundridge, she was baptized upon her confession of faith in her Lord and master by Rev. P. R. Voth, and was taken into the membership of the Hopefield Mennonite church, of which church she was a member until the time of her departure. In 1937 she moved with her parents to a farm near Peabody, Kansas.

On July 23, 1939, she was united in marriage with Richard Levi Friesen. One child, Tommy Dean, was born to this union. Her four years of married life were filled with unselfish devotion to her family. Her many acts of kindness toward others will long be remembered by her many friends, who now mourn her loss.

On April 13, 1944, she was taken to the Bethel Deaconess Hospital to have an operation for chronic mastoiditis. On May 3 complications set in and May 4 at 9:15 A. M. she passed away to her heavenly home, reaching the age of 24 years and 18 days.

Those to mourn her early departure are her husband, Richard Levi Friesen; one son, Tommy Dean, age 3; her parents Mr. and Mrs. John J. Wedel; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Fred Goering, Milton Wedel, Mrs. Elmer Stucky, and Mrs. Frank Klein; her parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Friesen; 10 sisters-in-law; 12 brothers-in-law; 17 nieces and nephews, and many friends and relatives.
