NEWS RECEIVED LAST WEEK OF SAD TRAGEDY AT CARNDUFF, SASK., CAN.

Mrs. Maria Goertz of Newton received the sad news last week from her son, J. P. Goertz at Carnduff, Sask., that his father-in-law, Mr. Ewert, was instantly killed when the truck in which he was riding was struck by a train. he was thrown clear of the truck and suffered a broken jaw and broken neck.

Mr. Ewert's son, P. P. Ewert, who was with him in the truck, Also suffered dangerous injuries. He was dragged about 800 feet before the train could be stopped. He is in the hospital, recovering from his injuries.
