Fred S. Krehbiel

Clarence Center, N. Y. — Fred S. Krehbiel, a member of one of Clarence Center's best known families, succumbed at the Buffalo General hospital on November 7, 1938, where he had been confined for several weeks. He had been in failing health since spring. His age was 70 years.

Mr. Krehbiel had been an active resident of the Center for many years, always doing his share in any project which served the best interests of the community. For a number of years he was the sole trustee of Clarence Center School District No. 9 and when the board was increased to three, he was named chairman of the board. Mr. Krehbiel was active in bringing about the construction of the new school, which is now the pride of teh village. Since 1914 he has been associated with the Erie Coutny Highway department and for a number of years, up to his last sickenss, was foreman of teh maintenance department in the Clarence area. He was a member of the Clarence Center Volunteer
