CARL LEPPKE

Carl Leppke was born on March 12, 1888 to Isaac and Florentine Zeih Leppke on a farm near Hillsboro, Kan. where he was to live most of his life. In May 1945, Carl and his family moved to Albuquerque, N. m.

On Dec. 22, 1918 he was united in holy matrimony with Lizzie Litke. The Lord granted us 48 years together.

As a young boy Carl recognized his need of salvation, and through evangelistic meetings he accepted Christ as his Savior. He was baptized and received into the Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church where he remained a member throughout his life. In Albuquerque we were in fellowship with the Christians at the Alameda Community Chapel.

A faithful husband and father, he enjoyed good health until early this year. In June he was admitted to the hospital where it was discovered that he had pneumonia and leukemia. He was admitted to the hospital again on Dec. 16 and passed away two days later from a stroke and hemorrhage.
