BETTY LOU PETERSHEIM

Betty Lou Petersheim, 71, of East Earl, Pa., died of cancer on March 15, 2004, at Landis Homes Retirement Community in Lititz. She was born to Robert E. and Kate Blough Wingard in Johnstown.

She married LeRoy K. Petersheim on Nov. 21, 1953.

She was a registered nurse who held various administrative responsibilities for 20 years at Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook. She retired in 1993 as administrator for health care. After retirement she worked at Friendship Community in Lititz as respite care coordinator.

From 1960 to 1970, she and her husband were fraternal workers with Eastern Mennonite Board of Missions in Tanzania.

She was a 1953 graduate of Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital Nursing School in Johnstown.

She was a member of Forest Hills Mennonite Church and Adelphia Sunday School Class. Before her illness she served as an elder.

Survivors include her husband, LeRoy; a son, Jon Robert and his wife, Susan, of Lancaster; two daughters, Beth Ann Good and her husband, Linford, of Mount Joy, and Anna Ruth Gawlinski and her husband, Edward, of Horsham; a sister, Grace Yoder of Harrisonburg, Va.; a brother, Carl Wingard of Morgantown; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Weaver; and two brothers, Glenn and Freeman Wingard.
