● Amanda Mae Smith, 80, Halstead, formerly of Burns, died Aug. 7 at Halstead Hospital. Funeral services were held Aug. 10 at Grace Mennonite Church, with Dean Becker and Harry Wenger officiating. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd R. Smith; two sons, Kenneth of Halstead and Larry of Burns; three brothers, Irvin, Clarence and Curtis Johnson, all of Halstead; a sister, Juleita Koehn of West Point, Miss.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
