text of obituary:

MRS. FANNIE ROTH

Fannie, daughter of Christian and Mary (Conrad) Gerig, was born in Henry County, Iowa, Sept. 3, 1880. Here she grew to womanhood and accepted Christ as personal Saviour, uniting with the Sugar Creek Mennonite church at Wayland, Iowa.

On March 3, 1903, she was married to Joseph J. Roth. They set up housekeeping on a farm in her home community. Their family consisted of six children. After all of their children had established homes of their own, they retired from the farm and moved to the town of Wayland.

While she was physically failing because of age, she seemed in about usual health until she fell at her home, fracturing her ankle and suffering a stroke. She was taken to the Memorial hospital at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, where she passed away early Tuesday morning, Nov. 15, 1960 at the age of 80 years, two months and 12 days. Her husband preceded her in death on Christmas Day, 1947.

She leaves her six childern: Mary (Mrs. Earl Swartzendruber), Levi, Helen (Mrs. Willie Beachy), Orie, Elsie (Mrs. Ivan Yoder), and Ray, all of the Wayland community.
