MOUNDRIDGE — Dr. Willard E. Kaufman, M. D., 74, died Saturday (Nov. 9, 2002) at Memorial Home in Moundridge.

He was born Sept. 20, 1928, to Henry and Lydia (Voran) Kaufman in Belmont. He married Lorraine J. Johnson June 14, 1953, in Osage City. She survives of Moundridge.

He was a Moundridge resident for 45 years. He graduated from Belmont High School in Belmont, Bethel College in North Newton and the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He was a retired medical doctor, serving the Moundridge and Inman communities. He was a member of West Zion Mennonite Church, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Diplomat with the American Board of Family Practice, the American Academy of Family Practice, the Mennonite Medical Association, the Harvey County Medical Society and the Kansas Medical Society.

Other survivors include: two sons, Stanley E. Kaufman of San Francisco and Dennis A. Kaufman of Racine, Wis.; a daughter, Sharon J. Reber of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a sister, Lela Schmidt of North Newton; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Kaufman.

Visitation will be until 8 p. m. today with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p. m. today and from 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. Tuesday, all at Moundridge Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 3 p. m. Tuesday at West Zion Mennonite Church in Moundridge with Pastors John and Marcia Yoder-Schrock officiating.

Graveside service will be 11 a. m. Wednesday at Union Cemetery in Osage City.

Memorials have been established with Memorial Home in Moundridge, the Mennonite Central Committee and the Alzheimer's Association, all in care of the funeral home, 115 E. Cole, Box 410, Moundridge, KS 67107.
