JOHN ADRIAN

HESSTON — John H. Adrian, 84, died Friday, June 14, at his home in Hesston.

He was born March 6, 1912, in rural Harvey County, the son of Peter P. and Helena Harms Adrian. A longtime area resident, he was a farmer.

He attended Hesston United Methodist Church, was past chairman of the Kansas State Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service; served on the Kansas Wheat Commission; was a past president of Moundridge Industrial Development Inc., was past president of the Little Arkansas Watershed Association, and a member of the Farmers Union.

On Dec. 8, 1938, he married Elizabeth Bristol in St. Joseph, Mo. She died Aug. 29, 1976.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Adrian, Newton; a daughter, Sharon A. Darby, Hutchinson; two brothers, Arthur A. Adrian, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Paul B. Adrian, Salina; three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Phil, and a sister, Hilda Wilmore.

The funeral was Tuesday, June 18, at Hesston United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harry Betts presiding. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.

Memorials have been established with the Alzheimer's Disease Association and Newton Medical Center.

Petersen Funeral Home, Newton, was in charge of arrangements.
