text of obituary:

Amos Welty

Amos Welty was born in Riley Township, Ohio, on January 12, 1854, and died at his home three miles north of Bluffton, Oct. 4, 1927, aged seventy-three years, eight months and twenty-two days.

On May 21, 1883, he was united in holy matrimony with Miss Sarah Sutter, also of Riley Township, who preceded him in death on February 15, 1902.

To this union were born eleven children, Cyrus and Hiram, of Robstown, Texas; Willis, of Beaverdam; Mrs. Cordella Whiting, of Toledo; Rufus, of Rawson; Sylvanus, of Bluffton; Elam, of Columbus Grove; Mrs. Edna Badertscher, on the home farm; Mrs. Rhoda Balmer, of Toledo; Harvey, of Lafayette; and Mrs. Sarah A. Moser, who passed away on January 19, 1925.

He is survived by seven sons and three daughters; two brothers, Samuel and David, and one sister, Mrs. Peter Graber, of Pretty Prairie, Kan.

He fell asleep after a severe illness of a few weeks. His faith was in his Heavenly Father who gave him life, and who called him to Himself.

Funeral services, which were in charge of his pastor Rev. Musselman, from the First Mennonite Church Bluffton, were quite largely attended by sympathizing friends and relatives.

Interment took place at the St. John cemetery. -- Pandora (Ohio) Times.
