Pioneer of Oklahoma Community Dies

Meno, Okla. – Funeral services for Henry A. Eck, 90, a pioneer resident of this community, were held Aug. 20 at the New Hopedale Mennonite Church. Rev. Willard A. Schrag and Rev. Frank D. Huebert officiated.

A native of Moundridge, Kan., Mr. Eck came here as a young man of 15 with his parents. He and his wife, the former Eva Koehn of Moundridge, were married here on Sept. 9, 1900 and were nearing their 70th wedding anniversary. They lived on a farm northwest of Meno, where they raised a family of 12 children, before retiring and moving to Meno.

Surviving are the widow, of the home; eight daughters, mrs. Henry Smith of Meno, Mrs. John Becker of Fairview, Mrs. Isaac Koehn and Mrs. Walter Eck of Isabella, Mrs. Harvey Luscombe and Mrs. Lynn Buller of goltry, Mrs. Henry Buller of Enid, and Mrs. Wesley Frantz of Orienta; four sons, Harry an Lafey, both of Meno, Roy and Linda, both of Enid; 52 grandchildren and 86 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lena Koehn of Meno.
