Susanna Koehn, daughter of Frederick and Helena Dirks, was born in Heinrichsdorf, Russia, on April 21, 1869. With her parents she came to the United States in 1874. The family made its permanent home south of Avon, South Dakota. In 1884 she was baptized and accepted into the Friedensburg Church of Avon. In 1886 she was united in marriage to Henry H. Koehn. One of their happy experiences was the observance of their fifty-ninth wedding anniversary in 1945. Mrs. Koehn passed away at her home on March 16, 1947. She is mourned by two sons, Jake and Fred; a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Bach, all of Avon, and two sisters and two brothers. Her husband preceded her in death.
