A. B. Shelly über Spr. 27, 1 sprach.

A Sal[sic Sad] Case of Burning.

When, on December 31, Ellen Erney, a member of the West Swamp church, living with her mother at Milford Square, Pa., had arisen in the morning to prepare breakfast for her mother and herself, her clothes in some way caught fire and by the time her mother, hearing her screams, came to her help, nearly all her clothing was burned from her and her entire body was almost roasted. Later in the day she was removed to the hospital at Allentown where in the evening she was relieved from her sufferings by peacefully falling asleep. Her funeral was held and interment made at the West Swamp church on January 3rd. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, A. B. Shelly, speaking from Prov. 27. 1. Deceased arrived at the age of 48 years, 6 days. She leaves her aged mother to mourn her sad and sudden departure.
