Three-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Cistern

Ephrata, Pa.—Three-year-old Edwin Lamar Burkholder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ammon N. Burkholder of rural Ephrata, drowned in a cistern Oct. 13 while the family was visiting relatives at Plymouth, Ohio. The accident took place at the Samuel Leid farm near Plymouth, Mrs. Leid and Mrs. Burkholder being sisters. It was reported that the boy removed the cistern cover and fell in. Family members found him a short time afterward, but all efforts to revive him failed. Funeral services were held at the Martindale Old Order Mennonite Church on Oct. 17.
