Church Organist Dies In Highway Crash

Wayland, la. —Relatives here received word of a head-on auto crash near Luteville, Mo. which claimed the life of Mrs. Duane Wittmer, 48, at Wichita, Kan. and seriously injured her husband, formerly of Wayland.

Mrs. Wittmer was an accomplished musician and served as church organist. The funeral was held June 28 at Hyde Park United Methodist Church in Wichita.

Mr. Wittmer remained under intensive care at the Cape Girardeau, Mo. hospital. A daughter, Mary Ellen, and son Phillip, also survive.
