text of obituary

• Mr. and Mrs. Menno Schrag received word last week of the sudden death on Easter Sunday of Mrs. Schrag's brother, Georg Schmunk, 72, of Cologne, Germany. Death was due to heart attack. Like many thousands of others, the Schmunk family were expatriates from East Germany since about 15 years ago, where they suffered severe persecution under the Communist regime. In April 1972, Mr. and Mrs. Schmunk made their first and only trip to America, spending three weeks with friends and relatives in Florida. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Lilli Schmunk, and a daughter, Dr. Rosemarie Schmunk, both of Cologne; a son, Peter and family, Ludwigshafen, Germany; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Shotts, Daytona Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Else Horsch, Rockledge, Fla.; and Mrs. Memo Schrag, Newton. A brother, Louis, Toronto, Ont. preceded him in death in 1969.
