Van der Werf, John (d.1973) Mennonite Weekly Review obituary: 1973 Mar 8 p. 8 Birth date:

John Van der Werf, 67, a retired contractor, died March 2 at the home in North Newton after a long illness. The Van der Werfs moved here four months ago from Manson, Iowa, where they had lived for 25 years. Natives of The Netherlands, they came to the United States following World War II. Surviving Mr. Van der Werf are his wife, Martha; a son, John, of Elkhart, Ind.; five daughters, Mrs. Don Miller and Mrs. John Gingerich, both of Kalona, Iowa, Mrs. Mark Janzen of Newton, Mrs. Robert Troyer of Hesston, and Christine Van der Werf of the home; 13 grandchildren; four brothers and one sister, all residing in The Netherlands. Funeral services were held Monday forenoon at the Draper-Canon Chapel with Rev. Myron Schrag, pastor of the Faith Mennonite Church, officiating. Mr. Van der Werf was a member of the Faith Church.
