• Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Friesen, 76, were held Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of Peterson Funeral Home here. Rev. Albert Epp, pastor of the First Mennonite Church, officiated. Mrs. Friesen died Feb. 24 at a nursing home in Houston, Texas. The former Marie Willems of Inman, she lived in Newton for some years, moving to Houston 16 years ago. Her husband, George Friesen died in 1951. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Emma Gibson and Miss LaVerna Friesen of Houston; a son, George A. of Cody, Wyo.; and six grandchildren.
