NEWTON and Vicinity
Sam D. Neufeld, 69, retired farmer living on Clover Lane, died Saturday, Jan 13, at Axtell Christian Hospital. He was a native at Watonga, Okla. and farmed for many years at Balko, Okla. moving to Newton three years ago. He was a member of the Koerner Heights M. B. Church, where the funeral was conducted Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Larry Martens in charge. Surviving are the widow, Marie, of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Sue) Vogt of rural Newton and Mrs. Kenneth (Jean) Jost of rural Marion; five sisters, Mrs. D. B. Wiens of Hillsboro, Mrs. Stella Neufeld of Wichita, Mrs. Willard Briscoe of Bridgeport, Tex., and Mrs. Roland Frantz of Perryton, Tex., and Mrs. Otto Hiebert of Hillsboro; four brothers, E. J. A. H. and Milton, all of Balko, and Albert of Reedley, Calif.; and four grandchildren
