NEWTON and Vicinity

Funeral services for Henry F. Voth, 81, were conducted Saturday afternoon, Jan. 13, at the Tabor Mennonite Church north of Newton. Rev. Albert Gaeddert, interim pastor, officiated. Mr. Voth, a life-long resident of the Goessel community, died Jan. 11 at the farm home south of Goessel where he and his wife, the former Elizabeth Schmidt, had resided since their marriage in 1917. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Voth are two sons, Alfred of Hesston and Ernie of Goessel; three daughters, Mrs. Willis (Marna) Abrahams and Mrs. Ernest (Lila) Harris, both of Route 2, Newton, and Mrs. Roland (Norma) Martinez of Aurora, Ill.; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Ben F. Voth of Route 2, Newton; and two sisters, Mrs. D. C. Reimer of Newton and Mrs. William Voth of rural Newton.
