MARGARETA PETKER

(Mrs.) Margareta Petker of coaldale, Alta. passed away on October 8. She was born on September 1,1897 to a Dyck family in Orenburg, Russia. She married Cornelius Petker on October I, 1925. A year later the couple emigrated to Canada, settling in Coaldale. She accepted Christ as her Saviour in her youth, was baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren church. She like to help and to give whenever she could. The family remembers her sacrificial love and concern for each individual. She was predeceased by her husband Cornelius in January 1966, two sons in infancy and son Peter in September 1976. She is survived by two sons: Corny and Mary Petker of Debolt, Alta. and Jake Petker of Coaldale; two daughters: Annie and Nick Reimer and Elizabeth Petker, all of Coaldale; daughter-in-law Helen Petker of Coaldale; 18 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. Her funeral was held October 11 in the Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church with pastor Rudy Heidebrecht officiating.
