MARY FROESE

Mary Froese of Winnipeg passed away on October 27. She was born to Gerhard and Anna (Penner) Froese on January 9, 1895 in Barvenkovo, Russia. In her early youth she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and was later baptized into the Mennonite Breth· ren church. For several years she enjoyed teaching Sunday schooL In July 1930 she im- migrated to Winnipeg with her parents, and joined the South End MB Church where she taught Sunday schooL She worked for a Ger· man language newspaper for many years, re- tiring at age 70. She is survived by three sisters, Amalie E. Froese, Mrs. Agatha Wiens, Margaret and John Janzen. The fun- eral was held on October 30 in the Winnipeg Central MB Church, with pastor Gerhard Friesen and Abe Froese officiating.
