CELIA VALAZQUEZ DE WIEBE

(Mrs.) Celia Valazquez de wiebe of Waterloo, Ont. passed away on October 5. She was born on July 5, 1933 in the state of Durango, Mexico. She was converted in 1954 and baptized the same year. She worked at the Mennonite Brethren Bible Institute in Durango where she met David Wiebe. They were married in 1955, and had five children. Together they maintained the clinic and Bible institute in Durango. Four years later they moved to a farm, where problems with arthritis began for her. In 1968 they moved to a farm in Sinaloa state. They began a children's ministry in three different towns. In 1976 the ministry of the program "New Wine" strengthened her faith and led to the healing of her arthritis. In 1978 the family moved to Guadalajara, and in the following year to Canada. She went into a coma on February 1, 1980, and passed away on October 5, 1980.
