AGNES JANZEN

Agnes Janzen of Waldheim. Sask. passed away August 22. She was born to Peter and Aganetha Penner on April 22. 1909 in the Yazykovo settlement, Russia. The family moved later to Millerowo, then to Steinfeld. In 1923 the family immigrated to Rosthern, Sask and a year later moved to Milden. Sask. She accepted Christ as Saviour at age 14 and five years later was baptized by Elder John Klassen in Dundurn. Sask., where she joined the Mennonite church. On October 20, 1934 she married John H. E. Janzen near Hague, Sask. Several years later she joined the Waldheim MB Church where he was a member. At church she enjoyed working in the ladies aid, especially in the ministry to the needy through MCC. She is survived by her husband John; children and spouses: Edwin and Helen of Lanigan, Sask., and Elnora and Ronald Cole of Clive, Alta., and Waldemar and Margaret of Waldheim; six grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. Her funeral was held August 25 at the Waldheim MB Church, with Rev. John D. Goertzen officiating.
