ELIZABETH KONRAD

(Mrs.) Elizabeth Konrad of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away on June 26. She was born to Gerhard and Elizabeth Nachtigall at Ufa, in southern Russia on October 18, 1900. At age 14 she accepted Christ and at 16 was baptized into the Mennonite Brethren church at Gnadenheim, Russia. On February 2, 1922 she married Abraham Konrad. In 1925 they emigrated to Mexico. After staying less than a year there the family moved to Saskatchewan, then to Clairmont, Alta. and finally settled in La Glace, Alta. in 1928. They farmed here until 1951 when they moved to a farm near Abbotsford, B.C. They were involved in the establishment of the La Glace MB Church and spent the last few years in Clearbrook. Mrs. Konrad was predeceased by two sons. She leaves her husband Abraham H. Konrad, three sons and four daughters: Elizabeth Voth, and Dan and wife, Rosanna of Prince George, Helen and Art Knight of Kamloops. Irene and Verne Kopp of Kelowna, all of B.C.; Abe and wife Mary of Niverville and Huldah and George Riddle of Thompson, Manitoba ; and 20 grandchildren.
