LENH BOUABAN

(Yian) Mei Lenh Bouaban of Swift Current, Sask. died of cancer June 11. She was born December 2, 1955 in Xeang Kuang, Laos. In April, 1975 she married Khamchan Bouaban. She became a Christian and was baptized on October 5, 1977. Political unrest forced them to escape from Laos into Thailand in December, 1977, where they were placed in a refugee camp in Nongkhai. There they were applied to come to Canada and arrived in Edmonton October 3, 1979. They came to Swift Current October 6. Lenh is survived by husband Khamchan (John), one son Enger, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Yian Thin Lian, two sisters and one brother in France, one sister MeiSou and husband of Swift Current, one sister and her family in Laos and one brother-in-law Bert, of Swift Current. The funeral was held June 15 at the Bridgeway Community Church, Swift Current (where she was a member), with pastor Peter Nikkel officiating.
