JACOB SCHELLENBERG

Jacob Schellenberg died Jan. 16, 2008. He was born Mar. 3, 1922 to Jacob and Katherine Schellenberg in Burwalde, Russia. His family came to Canada in 1926 and eventually settled in the Cabri area. Accepting Christ at 15 and baptized at 20, Jacob attended Herbert Bible School where he met Susie Nickel. They were married in 1945, attended Canadian Bible College in Regina for a year, and settled in Beechy, Sask . Jacob worked at Link's Garage, and later the Credit Union. He was always active in church, preaching and teaching Sunday school as well as serving in the Gideon ministry for 30 years . He retired in 1985 and moved to Swift Current, Sask. In Aug. 2007, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He is mourned by Susie; children Gloria (Wes) Berg, Nancy (Ken) Peters, Angela (Alvin) Plett, Wayne (Josie); 2 siblings. The memorial service was Jan. 19 at Bridgeway Community Church, Swift Current.
