JACOB BENJAMIN JANZ

Benjamin Janz died Jan. 19, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 13, 1931 to Abram and Justina Janz in Main Centre, Sask. Jake left the farm to obtain his bachelor of education degree, and after teaching in rural Sask., spent almost 30 years with the Regina School Board as a principal in various elementary schools. After retirement, Jake was executive director of Far East Broadcasting Company for Canada, based in Burnaby, B.C., and later moved back to Regina. Jake led Bible classes and directed choirs for more than 25 years and enjoyed singing in quartets. Predeceased by his first wife Ruby, he is mourned by his wife Elaine; children Bruce, Janine (Sheldon) Stener, Lydine (Rick) Denzin; 3 grandchildren. The memorial service was Jan. 24 at Faith Baptist Church, Regina.
