HELEN JANZEN KROEKER

Helen Janzen Kroeker died July 30, 2007 at age 99. She was born Aug. 10, 1907 in Franztal, Russia to Jacob K. and Katharina Janzen. She enjoyed a carefree childhood, and moved to Manitoba in 1925 and then Yarrow, B.C. In Vancouver, she worked at Vancouver Mennonite Girl's Home, in various housekeeping jobs, and as a seamstress in a clothing factory. In 1968, after moving to Los Angeles for work, she married Fred Kroeker of Merced, Cal. She will be remembered for her generosity to family and friends, remembering birthdays, and making delicious meals. Predeceased by 5 siblings and husband Fred, she is mourned by children Ruth, Carl, and Gerald (Sara); 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. The memorial service was Aug. 3 at Clearbrook MB Church, Abbotsford, B.C
