EVA KLASSEN

Eva Klassen of Herbert, Sask., passed away May 18 . She was born in Alexander-

tal, Russia on September 7, 1891. The family immigrated to Canada in 1913 and settled in the Maple Creek area of Saskatchewan. Mrs. Klassen accepted the Lord in 1910 and was baptized in 1911. She married Peter I. Klassen of Kelstern, Sask . in 1914 and together they farmed until 1947 when they retired to the town of Herbert. Mrs. Klassen was active in MCC work for five years and was president of the Ladies Aid for many years . After her husband passed away, she resided at the Herbert Senior Citizens' Home. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1975 and by one daughter Eva in 1924, as well as by one sister, two brothers and one grandson. She is survived by one daughter, Martha (Mrs. Lawrence) Redekopp of Lanigan, Sask.; five sons: Peter and Helen of Kelstern, Sask.; Jake and Martha of Moose Jaw, Sask.; Henry and Carolyn of Moose Jaw; John and Phyllis of Fort St. John, B.C., Dave and Anne of Swift Current, Sask.; and by nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. The funeral services were held May 21 at Herbert Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. Jacob Pauls officiating.
