FRIEDRUN DICK

Friedrun Dick died Feb. 6. She was born Mar. 18, 1955 in Winnipeg to Rudolf and Marta Reichert. When she was 9, the family moved to Switzerland and then Germany where her father worked for various Christian organizations. At 13, upon confession of her faith, Friedrun was baptized in a Baptist church. She had a wonderful voice and loved music, singing with a group of other talented young people and touring across Germany. After high school, Friedrun completed a degree in social work, focusing on working with children. She married David Dick in August 1983. Friedrun unwaveringly supported her husband during his years in ministry, and spent the last few years working as a teacher's assistant with the Abbotsford (B.C) School District. She saw humour in everything, despite difficult life experiences. She was known for her fabulous meals and baking, and her talents in crafts and knitting. She is mourned by David; children Philip, Christopher, and Julia; mother Marta; 3 brothers. The celebration of life was Feb. 18 in Abbotsford, B.C.
