Phoebe (Yeakley) Zimmerman, daughter of Joseph and Fannie (Yordy) Yeakley, died on Mar. 2 at the age of 87. Funeral services were held at east Fairview on Mar. 24. She was married to Bishop Joe E. Zimmerman, who preceded her in death in 1949. Surviving are her two children, Milo Zimmerman and Myrtle Bender; three brothers, Fred, John and George; three sisters, Emma (Mrs. Edd) Roth, Eva, and Elsie (Mrs. Bert) Stutzman. Preceding her in death were: Stella (Mrs. Herman) Reil, a daughter, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Gascho. Phoebe spent her last day piecing quilt tops. She had spent several years in the Kansas City and Chicago children's homes. — Dorothy L. Bender.
