• Mrs. Edna J. Sawatzky, 66, wife of John J. Sawatzky, died April 16 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Buhler Mennonite Church with Rev. John Braun officiating. Mrs. Sawatzky, the former Edna Richert, at one time was employed as an insurance clerk in Topeka. She married Mr. Sawatzky there in 1954, and they took up residence at Buhler. For the past two years, because of a disabling illness, she had received care at the Bethel Home for Aged here. Surviving are the widower, of the home; a son, Robert W. of Hutchinson; two daughters, Mrs. Harold Andres of rural Newton an Mrs. Loren Johnson of McPherson; one brother, Jacob F. Richert of Hutchinson; six sisters, Sister Dora Richert and Mrs. Ruth Buland, both of Newton, Mrs. Leo D. Ewert of Halstead, Mrs. John Gaeddert of Wichita, Mrs. Elizabeth Balzer of Hillsboro, and Mrs. Theodore Braun of Council grove; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
