HELENA HIEBERT

Helena Hiebert died in September at age 105. She was bom Dec. 9, 1899 to Johan and Su - sanna Schroeder in Grossweide, Man. She was a hard-working, in- dustrious woman and by 10, she was already serving as a domestic L--_----=-___-' helper for her neigh- bours. One of the highlights of her youth was her conversion and baptism. Helena was a member of the MB church for over 87 years . In Oct. 1918, Helena married John Hiebert and spent many years supporting her hus- band on their family farm by raising a family, milking cows, stooking grain sheaves, pitch- ing hay, planting gardens, tending an or- chard, and assisting in bookkeeping. She en- joyed working in the kitchen at Winkler Bible Camp, reading, reciting Bible verses, and praying for her family. Predeceased by John in 1972; 12 brothers and sisters; 1 daughter; she is mourned by daughter Elma (Abram) Klassen, sons Allan (Kathy) and Art (Elva); 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter.
