JAKE TEICHROB

Jake Teichrob died Aug. 19 after a battle with Huntington's disease. He was born Jan. 5, 1929 in Morden, Man. to David and Mary Teichrob. At 10, Jake initiated his life of faith, making a personal commitment to Christ. His family moved to Abbotsford in 1945. At 20, Jake met his soulmate, Tena Klassen, and they were married 3 years later. Jake was a deacon at East Chilliwack MB Church, a Boys Brigade leader and a volunteer with M2 Prison Ministries. He shared everything he owned, such as vehicles, gasoline and farm equipment, with anyone who happened upon his doorstep. After Tena's death in 1993, he once again found companionship and married Tina Funk. Jake will be remembered for his great sense of humour and patience. Predeceased by Tena; 2 brothers; 1 sister; he is mourned by Tina; children Gary (Elaine), Janice (Angus) MacKay, Elaine Oeff) Cooper and Tim (Joanne); 8 grandchildren; 2 brothers. The memorial service was Aug. 24 at Central Heights MB Church, Abbotsford.
