FRANK HENRY "F.H." FRIESEN

Frank H. Friesen died peacefully Aug. 8 at 103. He was born to Heinrich and Anna Friesen July 26, 1902 in a small Russian vil- lage. He was baptized upon profession of faith in 1920. Due to increasing political and economic turmoil, he immigrated to Canada in 1924, settling in Manitoba. In 1929, he married Agnes Unger and the couple moved to Morden, Man., where he established a fuel and lumber busi- ness. After Agnes' death in 1974, Frank mar- ried Tina Reimer. He had a profound com- mitment to his faith and community, and was a founding member of Westside Com- munity Church (Man.), leading it for 25 years. He served on many church and edu- cational institution boards. He spearheaded the development of a senior citizens' home in Morden before it became fashionable, so it seemed right that Frank spent his last 9 years in the very home he championed. Prede - ceased by wives Agnes and Tina; 1 son; he is mourned by sons Frank, David (Elsie), Henry Uoyce) and John (Ingrid); stepchildren David (Esther), Bert (Evelyn), Neil (Margaret), Alvin (Frances) and Irene (Howard); 12 grandchil- dren; 10 great-grandchildren. The funer al was Aug. 11 at Westside Community Church.
