• Funeral services for Gustav R. Janzen, 75, were held last Saturday forenoon at the Faith Mennonite church, of which he was a member. Rev. Leonard Wiebe, the pastor, officiated. Mr. Janzen died Feb. 4 at the Friendly Acres Nursing Home here. A retired farmer and carpenter, he had lived in Newton since 1952. Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Voth, two sons, Calvin of Hesston and Vernon of Elkhart, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Otto Banman of rural Canton, Mrs. Raymond Metz of Hillsboro, and Mrs. Abe Plenert of Eagle, Colo.; one brother, Dan R. of Goessel; one sister, Mrs. Ferdinand Schmidt of Goessel; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
