Wife of Archbold Industrialist Dies

Archbold, Ohio — Mrs. Leona Sauder, 68, wife of Archbold industrialist Erie J. Sauder, died Nov. 3 at the Fulton County health Center where she had been a patient five days.

A lifelong resident of this community, she and her husband founded the Sauder Woodworking Company here 40 years ago, and she had served as corporate secretary from its beginning. The firm observed its 40th anniversary by holding open house on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at the parent plant and three affiliated firms, Fore-Craft, Inc., Herculex Division, and Sauder Designare. The Sauders' sons, Maynard, Myrl and Delmar, took over management of the operations at their retirement.

Besides her husband and sons, Mrs. Sauder leaves six grandchildren and one sister, Estella Short of Archbold.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 5 at the Central Mennonite Church, with Rev. Carl Yoder and Rev. Roy Sauder in charge.
