ELVA LORENE HARMS

The Lord called Elva Lorene Harms away on Nov. 14, 1974 at the age of 61. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Z. Harms, she was born Jan. 1, 1913 at Whitewater, Kan.

She was baptized on May 15, 1929 by Rev. G. N. Harms and received into the Grace hill Mennonite Church where she remained a lifelong faithful member.

Her childhood days were spent on the farm. She attended Star School. Whitewater High School, and business college in Wichita, Kan. She was employed by the Citizens Finance co. in Wichita for eight years.

Elva had a variety of interests. She loved music and played the piano, organ and accordian [sic]. She enjoyed the beauties of the outdoors and spent much time in the flower garden. She also spent much time reading. Good books were always found on her table. We will remember her as being cheerful even when she had to deny herself many things.

Surviving her are her mother and sister Leona of the home; a brother, Clarence, of Whitewater, and two nieces, Rosemary and Patricia and their families.
