• Funeral services for Donald E. Claassen, 49, were held Monday afternoon at the Bethel College Mennonite Church, of which he was a member. Rev. Esko Loewen officiated. Mr. Claassen who farmed northeast of Newton, became ill about six weeks ago and underwent surgery at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, for a brain tumor. He died at the Center on Friday, Sept. 27. Survivors include his widow, the former Wanda Nachtigal; two daughters, Mrs. David Eshelman of Wichita, and Debra Sue of the home; a son, David, of Dallas, Tex.; his father, A. D. Claassen of Newton; and two sisters, Mrs. Herbert Dodd of Wichita and Mrs. Wally Dick of Gunnison, Colo.
