Jacob P. Klassen died

June 3. He was born Mar. 16, 1922 to Jacob and Helena Klassen in Glyaden, Siberia . The family immigrated to Holmfield, Man. in 1925, moving to Leam - ington, Ont. in 1936 and later to Port Rowan, Ont. He quit 28 August 12, 200S MENNONITE BRETHRE N HERA LD school to help support the family. He accept- ed the Lord as a teen, was baptized and joined Port Rowan MB Church. During the war he served as a conscientious objector in a B.C forestry camp. After the war he worked with MCC, on a ship that supplied mules to the is- land of Crete. He attended Eden Bible School, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. In 1948 he married Anne Dyck. He sang in the male choir, taught Sunday school, was church librarian and helped Anne with church custodial duties. He farmed and was director on the Ontario Fed- eration of Agriculture Board and the Veg- etable Marketing Board. He is mourned by Anne, daughters Diane Talos of Brantford, Ont. and Shirley Born of Port Rowan; son Alan of Port Rowan; 7 grandchildren; 4 brothers; 3 sisters. The funeral was June 8 in Port Rowan MB Church with Sandy Young ministering.
