PETER JOHN WILLMS

Peter John Willms died June 2. He was born Apr. 25, 1932 in Hepburn, Sask. to John and Helena Willms. Church life was important to the family and Peter accepted Christ at 11. The family moved to B.C. in 1945. He attended Columbia Bible College, then Vancouver Normal School. He taught at Fraser Lake, B.C., then moved to Clearbrook, B.C. He married Sue Quiring Dec. 27, 1955. He was principal in several elementary schools, He was known for his integrity and calm leadership. In 1969 he completed his Bachelor of Education degree at UBC. After retirement he taught in Nigeria and Paraguay, and developed the ESL program at Central Heights Church, Abbotsford. He was an avid woodworker and home renovator. He never complained despite his pain, nor did he feel disappointment in God. His courage, strength and faith were evident. He is mourned by Sue; son Ivan; daughters Cheryl and Rhonda.
