EDWARD THEODORE FRIESEN

Edward Theodore Friesen died Apr. 23. He was born in Russia to Aron Abr. and Catherine Friesen. The family immigrated to Canada in 1926. When Ed was 12 years old his father died. He left school at 14 and with his brother bought their first Caterpillar. He was baptized at 16, joining Newton Siding (Man.) MB Church. He married Helen Epp Aug. 6, 1955. He owned and operated a construction company at Oakville, Man. until 1971, then moved to Abbotsford, B.C where he continued in construction. He acquired a private pilot'S license in 1959. He had a zest for life, enjoyed travelling, camping, quadding, playing guitar and singing with his family. He loved the Lord, saying, "1 can't preach or be a missionary, but I can work and give to those in need." Predeceased by 1 sister and 1 brother, he is mourned by Helen, son Gerry; daughters Darlene Heriot of Abbotsford and Jennifer Boldt of Chilliwack, B.C The funeral was Apr. 28 in Bakerview MB Church, Abbotsford, with Michael Dick and Ray Harris ministering.
