Two Killed, Seven Injure in Crash On Kansas Highway

Hillsboro, Kan. — A two-car crash Nov. 24 on Highway K-15 eight miles south of Abilene claimed the lives of Mrs. Henry L. Wiens, 79, of rural Hillsboro and two-year-old Kelley J. Masters of Allen, Kan. and injured seven others.

Mr. and Mrs. Wiens were passengers in a car driven by their son, Elmer of Abilene. Elmer Wiens is in serious condition at Abilene Memorial Hospital with fractures of the back and pelvis. Henry Wiens has been released from the hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wiens were held Sunday afternoon at the Spring Valley Mennonite Church near Canton, with Rev. James Hershberger officiating. Besides her husband she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Art Thiessen of Corn, Okla., eight grandchildren, four sisters and two brothers. She was the former Ada Schmidt.
