Amish Girl Killed When Gun Discharges

Sugarcreek, Ohio. — Word was received here of a Christmas eve tragedy which claimed the life of 10-year-old Emma Gingerich, daughter of Andy and Anna Gingerich of the Amish settlement at Jamesport, Mo.

The girl was hit in the neck when a .22 calibre rifle discharged accidentally and died within a few minutes.

Funeral services were held at the Charles Ropp residence on Dec. 27, with her schoolmates serving ad pall bearers.
