MRS. JOSEPH C. LIECHEY

Mrs. Emma Liechty, 79, of Archbold, Ohio died Nov. 30 at the Greencroft Nursing Center, Goshen, Ind. where she was taken April 13 from the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Ernest E. Smucker. She had been in failing health since January.

Mrs. Liechty was born on Aug. 21, 1893, in Fulton County, Ohio to Jacob C. and Mary (Burkholder) Frey. On Jan. 3, 1915, she was united in marriage to Joseph C. Liechty, who preceded her in death March 17, 1960. She lived in the Archbold community all her life.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Mary) Smucker of Goshen, Mrs. Wilbur M. (Lorraine) Wyse, Archbold, and Mrs. David (Doris) Lehman, Elkhart; six sons, Donald J., Herman J., Harold C., Wayne J., and Wesley P., all of Archbold, and Russel A., Goshen; three brothers, Edward B., Harvey and Ora Frey, all of Archbold, and three sisters, Miss Amanda Frey, Mrs. Sylvan (Pearl) Rupp, and Mrs. Charles (Bessie) Miller, all of Archbold. Also surviving are 42 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Deceased brothers and sister are Noah, Minnie, and Simon.

Funeral services were held Dec. 3 in the West Clinton Mennonite Church near Pettisville, O. of which Mrs. Liechty was a member. Rev. Edward Diener and Rev. Robert Detwiler officiated. Pallbearers were her six sons. Burial was in the Pettisville Cemetery.
