Death Claims Sicily Native Who Made First Mission Contacts

Elkhart, Ind. — Russell Manacie, 77, of Miami, Fla. and formerly of Elkhart, died at the Veteran's Hospital in Miami on Nov. 1.

Mr. Manacie was a native of Sicily and made the original contacts which led to establishment of a mission program there by the Virginia Mennonite Board of Missions.

Following a memorial service service in Miami, the body was returned here and a graveside service was held Nov. 6 in the Prairie Street Cemetery, with Rev. Russell Kraybill of the Prairie Street Mennonite Church in charge.
