Writer, Poet Dies In Denver, Colo.

Relatives at Hesston received word last week that Mrs. Mary Alice Holden, 65, formerly of that community, had died in Denver, Colo. on Nov. 6. The funeral was held at Howard's Mortuary in Denver on Nov. 9.

Mrs. Holden was a writer and a poet, and in former years many of her poems appeared in the Mennonite Weekly Review.

She was a daughter of Dr. Adam Kauffman, former Ellinwood, Kan. optometrist who died at Schowalter Villa at Hesston in late August. Mrs. Kauffman is still a resident of the Villa.
