Writer of Children's Books Called by Death at Lancaster

Lancaster, Pa. — Mrs. Esther Eby Glass, writer of over 100 pieces of literature about children including the well-known series of short stories, "The Miller Five," died here recently at the age of 61.

A native of Denbigh, Va., Mrs. Glass never had any formal training but developed her own writing philosophy and style. In addition to children's books, she also wrote many articles for church publications.

She was a member of the Mennonite Board of Congregational Ministries and of Mellinger's Mennonite Church, where the funeral was conducted on Oct. 14. She was employed by Provident Book Store here.
